Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why don't you have more identification labels on your plants?

Although many of the plants are labelled, Minter Gardens is not a Botanical Garden. Minter Gardens incorporates massive displays of colour and fragrance into a world class show garden setting. This approach has allowed for not only the educational aspects of a garden, but also for the addition
of unique and creative features such as floral design beds and Victorian topiary ladies. Minter Gardens is truly one of the greatest show garden experiences in the world!

2. Do you have Christmas light displays?

At this point Minter Gardens is only open for 7 months of the year, April through mid-October. This idea is something that Minter Gardens will continue to work towards in the future. Our setting against magnificent Mt. Cheam does bring snow to Minter Gardens each year, and this combined with Christmas lights would create an enchanting winter wonderland.

Visit our 18-acre destination garden centre, Country Garden, for our annual drive through Christmas light show, the 'Enchanted Garden'.

3. Is Minter Gardens a retail garden centre?

We do have a wonderful gift and plant shop on location, but the plant selection is limited. For the best selection of traditional favourites, as well as new and exciting varieties, we do have a destination retail garden centre only 15 minutes away.
