Insta-Incredible Fall Container Demo & Do

Sunday September 25, 2-3pm

See how it's done then stay to make one! Let Pauline show you how to create an Instagram-worthy fall container for your patio or deck and, if you'd like to stay after, she'll help you create your very own! Costs are for materials used only; there is no charge for the demo portion. And yes, she will be showing a succulent fall planter too! Please call 604.792.6612 to register (space is limited to the first 25 registered guests).

AppleFest!

Saturday October 1, 11am-3pm

Our third AppleFest will focus on the culinary side of apples, and it's a wonderful way to learn and appreciate it's many (delicious) uses. Bring your questions, your curiosity and your taste buds and join us in celebrating this fabulous fruit! Please note, the Cooking Demo/Apple Advice session is at 11am only and the Cider Introduction is at 1pm only. All other elements take place from 11am-3pm.

- Cooking Demo with Chef McCunn of Bravo Restaurant
& Apple Advice with Brian Minter (11am)
This is a 'tandem presentation at 11am only where Chef McCunn will be showing how to create an insanely delicious (we got to sample one already!) Apple Sabayon, and Brian will be sharing with guests just how easy it is to grow apples in gardens of any size. Bring your questions for both the Chef and the Gardener!

- Introduction to FVCC Cider (1pm) & Apple Cider Sips from the Fraser Valley Cider Company Rachel from FVCC will be introducing folks to their hand crafted ciders and the cider making process at 1pm, but she and her teammate will be here from 11am-3pm to sample a few of their delicious creations too!
- Heritage & Unique Apple Tastings Try a taste of one of 12 varieties of locally grown apples from Annie's Orchards. Find out what true flavour tastes like!
- Hand-Blended Apple Tea Tastings from Aromatica Fine Teas Visit their shop, ask about their huge tea selection and sip some pure fall comfort.

- Gourmet du Village Fall Flavour Samples Indoor entertaining (and eating!) is upon us, so Savina from Gourmet Village is coming to introduce some of their best apple themed, easy to make autumn edibles.

- Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Caramel Apples, Fresh Baked Apple Goods from The Callicarpa Cafe & Fresh Okanagan Apples will all be available for sale too!

Thanksgiving Kids' Craft

Friday October 7, 9am-12pm

Bring your little ones with you as you shop this morning and visit our craft table to make a Pinecone Turkey! Suitable for children of any age (with parental assistance for the wee ones). Our 'Gobble Guide' will show you how to make one and provide materials. There is no charge to participate (one turkey per child though please... yes, you can make one too :).

Wildlife Gardening for Winter

Saturday October 15, 10am

As much as we may have another mild winter, local pollinators will still need food sources from late fall through to spring. Brian will be discussing plants that provide good sources of food and shelter for birds, hummingbirds and bees, and talking briefly on how to winterize Mason Bee houses. Backyard Bee Keeping & Sweet Rewards

Saturday October 15, 11am

We're thrilled to welcome the folks from Campbell's Gold Honey Farm & Meadery (in Aldergrove) to the garden center where they will be joining us for an hour to discuss backyard bee keeping (they even run a course at their farm!) and talk about their delightful Honey Wines... real mead! If you've ever been interested in starting a hive yourself, this is a wonderful opportunity to ask your questions and find out more about starting one up and maintaining it. This is an even better opportunity to taste some incredible honey wine! Please call 604.792.6612 to register!

Drawing Fall Foliage

Sunday October 23, 2pm

Local artist and art instructor Patrick Stedman returns to show participants how to draw foliage successfully. Participants will learn tips, tricks and techniques to capture the beauty of leaves (which are in colourful abundance right now)! This session is for artists of all ages and abilities, and is an especially good fit for anyone wanting to take up a new hobby. There is no charge to attend but registration is requested; please call 604.792.6612 to sign up! Paper and pencils will be provided.

Family Fall Fun Afternoons

Saturday & Sunday October 29 & 30, 2-4pm

The team from Urban Safari Rescue return with live reptiles and creepy crawlies! Join them for informational show and tell sessions at 2pm and again at 3pm and be sure to bring your cameras! While you're here, take part in our Goodie Bag Scavenger Hunt, take a photo at our Fall Photo Op and shop for all the decor you need to make your Halloween celebration a beautiful one.

23rd Annual Gift Craft & Antique Fair

Saturday & Sunday November 5 & 6

The tradition continues! Come and shop from more than 90 tables of antiques, collectibles, handmade goods, knit crafts, baked treats, specialty gift items, art, candles, cards, jewelry, woodwork, children's clothes, toys and more!
