August 29 10:30am
Let Calvin Quaite of Conner's Wine Cellar help you become your own home-brew master!
Late August is when beer hops should be harvested, so the focus of this session is on the 'when and how' of harvesting, drying, storing and using hops to make beer. For those who have hop plants, new or established, this is a great opportunity to learn how to make full use of them, but anyone who has an interest in the beer making process or is curious about attempting u-brew beer is welcome to attend! There is no charge for this session but please sign up by calling 604.792.6612.
Note: Have questions on starting hops in your garden? Brian and our team members will be happy to help after the session!
Canning, Preserves & Garlic
September 5, 10:30am
Want to give canning a try but think it's too hard or time consuming to do? Think again!
Hanne H. will be showing guests just how easy canning can be, what the best candidates are, what tools you need and where to find them and, if you're lucky, she might tell you about her amazing salsa recipe too! As an added bonus, Hanne is a garlic farmer and will be discussing the key points of growing and preparing garlic. This is always a popular session, largely because it is very interactive with folks asking lots of questions. Please register by calling 604.792.6612.

July 1-15 During Store Hours
It's time for a little spring cleaning! Gather your plastic pots and flats from the season, place them on the designated pallets in the parking area, and we'll send them to a better place (via Westcoast Plastics and Recycling)! No advance drop offs, please, and please be sure to place pots and flats neatly so that they can be easily accessed by all (yes, some of them get picked up by participants too, which really is recycling at its finest!).
