Introduction to Ponds & Pond Product Basics

March 14, 10:30am

Welcome to the world of water gardening! We're thrilled to welcome experts from SheerWater Pond Supply, who will be here to educate guests on pond basics and how and when to use essential pond care products. Whether you're considering putting in a new water feature or looking to improve your existing one, this is a great opportunity to find out all you need to know.

Raptors Ridge Birds of Prey

March 14 and 15, 11am-3pm

They're back! The folks from Raptors Ridge will be returning with owls and raptors for a special visit at the start of spring break.
Bring your camera and your questions, and if you're looking for a more interactive experience, be sure to come by at 11:30am on Saturday or 1:30pm on Sunday to take a walk with the birds to the back field! St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun Party!

March 17, 10:30am

Register your little one for a very special Leprechaun Party on St. Patrick's Day! Children will learn how to make their home garden a welcome place for Leprechauns to play, learn about shamrocks and decorate their own to take home, participate in a rainbow themed scavenger hunt throughout the store and finish it all off with a green themed treat.

Ideal for children aged 4-10. Parents are welcome to stay and play too! The party will last approximately 1 hour. Cost is $10 per child. Space is limited and registration is required; please call 604.792.6612 to sign up or register with the main cashier. Please note that payment is required to secure your place. Thank you!

Vegetable Gardening

Folks are definitely growing more of their own these days, so Brian is spending an hour discussing some veggie gardening basics, tried, true and new varieties and tips for growing edibles in containers. Perfect timing for those plotting their plots! This is one of the most popular sessions of the year, so call 604.792.6612 to register early as space is limited.

Fruit and Berry Blitz

March 28, 10:30am

In jam, jelly, pie, crumble or fresh off the branch, sweet fruit is a joy in any form! Brian will be discussing the best small fruits and fruit trees to grow in our area, the growing requirements for each and tips for great productivity. Please call 604.792.6612 to sign up!

Spring Scavenger Hunt

April 3-5 During Store Hours

Happy Easter Weekend everyone! Similar to our fall and Christmas scavenger hunts, we have a new spring-themed clue search for kids to take part in! Pick up a form in the tropical area, find the answers to the questions, bring your completed form to one of our cashiers and receive a prize!

Succeeding with Seeds

April 11, 10:30am

Starting plants from seeds is a breeze once you know the basics. Brian shares his expertise on how to start seeds, prepare your garden and transplant seedlings and advises on the best soils and media to use. Please call 604.792.6612 to register.

Herb Appeal

April 18, 10:30am

Delicious and nutritious, herbs bring recipes to life! Learn how to grow and preserve herbs, discover the best herbs for containers and landscape and find out which are perennial (year-round) vs. annual. Please call 604.792.6612 to register.

Hanging Basket Days

April 25 and May 30, 10am-4pm

No time to plant your baskets? Let us do the work for you! Bring in your hanging baskets or containers from last season, choose from a pre-selected list of filler options, and we'll do the planting for you! Prices vary on container size and plant selection. No advance drop-offs please. Please note that moss baskets will be available for pickup on May 1.

We are thrilled to welcome members of the Chilliwack Spinners & Weavers Guild to the garden center! Come and see them create beautiful pieces, learn about their craft and shop from some of their handmade products.

Pruning is a great way to get your garden in shape for the year ahead and now is the ideal time to do it! Join us to learn both the art and science of this beneficial gardening activity.

PRUNING 101 - January 31, 10:30am

Doug & Dave Neufeld, the dynamic pruning duo, are back! Watch as they demonstrate the techniques needed to prune deciduous fruit, flowering and shade trees.

PRUNING 102 - February 7, 10:30am

Brian Minter will address 'all the rest', including: flowering shrubs, perennials, vines, cane fruits, specialty trees, evergreens and more.

PRUNING, The Abridged Version - February 14, 10:30am

For those with a small garden or a short attention span, this session will cover the basics of both 101 & 102!

Bloomer Bus to NorthWest Flower and Garden Show in Seattle

Thursday, February 12, 2015, 7:30am-9:30pm $80 per person

Once again, we are organizing a bus trip south of the line to visit the Northwest Flower and Garden Show in Seattle, Washington! The bus will leave Country Garden at 7:30am and should be back in Chilliwack by approximately 9:30pm. Passengers must have a current passport, travel medical insurance and be prepared to disembark and reload the bus at the border. Onboard entertainment will be provided by Brian Minter, who will be hosting the tour! Brian will also be speaking at the show at 1:45pm in the Hood Room.

Tickets are $80 per person and include transportation and admission to the show. Tickets must be purchased in advance, in-store or by calling 604.792.3799.
